A project that has been part of the BE for many years is LitterLinks by @sscheu2 . Here, the composition and trophic structure of #soil animals and their microbial food resources are studied, as well as their inter-annual shifts. https://t.co/jPdFqq4MoS @MPollierer

[Anton Potapov @AntonCollembola]

Nice opportunity to go to Africa #GlobalCollembola #SoilBON 😉

[Dorothee Sandmann @DorotheeSandma1]

It has been a great, connecting and inspiring conference #GSB2023 with almost nothing missing but biscuits in the coffee break ;) Thank you @DianaWallSoil and all other contributors and particpants

[Melanie Pollierer @MPollierer]

@FrankAshwood Always a pleasure, join us any time 😅

[Melanie Pollierer @MPollierer]

The (extended) AG Scheu Göttingen Team #GSB2023, thanks to @FrankAshwood for being on the picture with his great pictures! And thanks everyone for a great conference!

[SPUN @spununderground]

Closing ceremony for #GSB2023 starts with Richard Bardgett calling for studies across time in addition to space.

[Steven de Goede @steven_degoede]

#TeamForest with @MPollierer! No decrease in soil animal diversity over time, like the trend we see aboveground. Temporal variation is mostly related to climatic differences between years. Differences between sites are caused by forest type and abiotic drivers. #GSB2023 (11/n)

[Elly Morrien (@morrienelly.bsky.social) @MorrienElly]

@EdithCHammer shows some brand new data that fungi might work as microplastic vacuum cleaners in soil where the microplastics stick to their hyphae while growing through the soil matrix @theGSBI #GSB2023. Very cool! Microplastics in green

#PhDposition in our lab #AGScheu, #uniGoettingen in the framework of the #BExplo_research to investigate the response of soil animal food webs to forest gap formation using state-of-the-art techniques like compound-specific amino acid isotope analyses:

We have a small information stand at the #sfe2gfoe2022 ! We would be happy if you drop by. You will find us in the exhibition hall next to the poster session.

To those attending the SFE2-GfÖ-EEF meeting in Metz. Here's your periodic reminder that if you have (or see) great 'Synthesis' projects, consider the @Ecology_Letters 'Synthesis' section as a potential outlet. Email or DM me with ideas.

Interested in #Collembola, their trophic niches in #forest soils and influence of vertical resource heterogeneity? Want to know how they respond to deprivation of root-derived resource? Then we recommend the BExplo publication by Li, @bluhm_sl @MPollierer https://t.co/C3laJcUUlx
