A hospital stay can feel overwhelming for a child — unfamiliar sounds, bright lights, and fear.
That’s why the new sensory room at Midland Metropolitan University Hospital in Smethwick, one of the West Midlands’ newest NHS facilities, is so special. Donated by the Dawoodi Bohras of #Birmingham, the space is designed to provide comfort, play, and healing for young patients.
Because healing is more than medicine — it’s about creating spaces where children feel safe.

First Lady Rachel Ruto recently inaugurated the newly renovated Unoa Comprehensive School in #Wote, marking a significant milestone in expanding access to quality education, with the support of @ProjectRiseDB, the global philanthropic initiative of the Dawoodi Bohra Community.
The school, established in 1952, had long struggled with deteriorating classrooms, a reality the First Lady witnessed firsthand during last year’s Day of the African Child celebrations, where she found crumbling facilities and a dust-covered playground. The visit prompted an urgent call for intervention.
The project restored eight classrooms with upgrades to roofing, flooring, plastering, windows, doors, and drainage. These improvements have created safer, more functional spaces for learning after decades without major rehabilitation.

As a store owner, #NewYork#DawoodiBohra member Ammar Hezam welcomes dozens of people through his doors every day. Recently, that included @nycmayor@zohrankmamdani as part of his support for local entrepreneurs across the city.
For Dawoodi Bohra entrepreneurs, business is rooted in honesty, discipline, and service. A moment that reflected a shared focus on small businesses—and the role they play in supporting local communities.
Being healthy is not just about getting the right treatment. It is shaped by the spaces we live in.
Open areas, clean surroundings, access to light, air, and safe community zones all play a quiet but powerful role in everyday well-being.
The transformation underway in Bhendi Bazaar is creating environments that support healthy living, safety, and a better quality of life.
