Yesterday, I was grateful to join the Congressional Bipartisan Mental Health & Substance Use Task Force—on behalf of Mobilize Recovery—as they released their legislative agenda. Over 70 bills introduced during this Congress alone (including H.R. 2400, Reentry Act of 2023, a bipartisan piece of legislation that empowers states to restore access to healthcare, including addiction and mental health treatment, through Medicaid for incarcerated individuals up to 30 days before their release.)

Today was a good day. We broke ground on the state’s first crisis center for those with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities today in Macon. This facility will also have a robust outpatient center. This special place will become a National model.
