🔥刚刚，Tibo 首次讲清楚了 Reset 机制的诞生内幕！

原来 Codex 动不动就「Reset」给全员送额度，背后居然是这么来的。

这个现在已经快变成 Codex 社区传统的东西，一开始根本不是什么精心设计的运营活动。

最早的逻辑非常简单：

Codex 还在快速迭代，经常会把东西搞坏。

可能是配置错了，可能是服务出了问题，也可能某段时间产品体验明显不如预期。

@thsottiaux 觉得，用户花了自己的额度帮他们测试产品，结果问题还是 OpenAI 搞出来的，那就应该补偿用户。

所以最开始只是为了补偿把东西搞坏了，那就给你一些额外 usage。

后来慢慢就演变成了今天大家熟悉的直接把 usage limits reset。

最有意思的是，这件事一直都非常「草台班子」。

Tibo 说，reset 背后其实没有什么复杂审批，也不是跟 Marketing 或 Finance 一起策划出来的活动。

他甚至可以自己决定什么时候按这个按钮。

采访里主持人把它类比成 Amazon 的退货政策：

如果是我们的问题，那就直接补给你。

久而久之，用户会形成一种很强的预期：这家公司是真的在乎我的使用体验。

这可能也解释了为什么一个如此简单粗暴的机制，最后反而变成了 Codex 社区最有辨识度的文化之一。

而且视频最后还有一个更离谱的细节：

这个真是支持了，所以有些时候该吐槽吐槽，OpenAI还是一家挺听劝的公司。取消5小时限制以后啊，周限额用量大幅下降，我还宁愿像以前一样耐用点😂

Tomorrow we will bring back the 5h limit for Plus accounts across ChatGPT Work and Codex. I had mentioned this a while ago, but then postponed it.

This is necessary as (a) the 5h limit allows us to smoothen the load on our compute, allowing to keep the plan generous in terms of weekly usage and (b) users on the Plus plan are relatively casual and new users, but then also just accidentally eat through their whole weeks usage and then are confused, making it not a great experience.

We are for the upcoming months keeping the 5h limit not enabled for Pro $100 and Pro $200 subscriptions.

@jinchenma_ai 是的，因为有结果这个事很难定义。并且就算做到了，你放心，甲方会要求你继续额外服务，他觉得之前给你目标定低了。要么就数据给你搞不公开不透明。因为企业的经营它很难量化。举例，你拿销售额，那企业是不可能把详细的报表发给你的。拿效率提升为考核
，那这个是很难量化的。

@AI_Jasonyu 目前我测下来，Google Drive的体验是比较好的。因为它可以自动备份指定的本地文件夹，然后这样话我用ChatGPT、 Codex，换台电脑都可以快速读取。

Update on rate limits in Codex.

We’ve found (a) some inefficiencies when using images in long sessions with multiple compactions (b) high p95+ usage for Computer History (c) a feature that was meant to generate conversation titles that was draining a bit more usage than intended. And we have a tiger team combing through everything and shipping fixes tomorrow. We also found a novel approach to drive efficiency up significantly that is completely unrelated and we will be working on next week.

As part of some of the fixes tomorrow, we will also do a full reset of the usage for all paid subscriptions.
