Today, we gathered at the Courthouse in support of E.M. as we await the verdict.
To survivors:
💙 We believe you
💙 We stand with you
💙 Your story matters
We will be gathering again this evening at 6:30pm, hope to see you there.
Regardless of the verdict, we stand in solidarity with E.M. and survivors everywhere. Believing survivors and working to end gender-based violence is a collective responsibility.
We are here for you 💙
Today's verdict was disappointing and deepful painful for many. It sends a message to survivors everywhere that you will not be believed; that your credibility will be questioned and your story will be invalidated. This silences survivors and creates barriers for them.
The Muslim Resource Centre for Social Support and Integration (MRCSSI) will be holding an Open House on June 4th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to offer a safe and supportive space for drop-in to connect, remember, reflect and act. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Thank you to those who showed up today (and for all the other days) to stand with E.M. and all survivors 💙 your presence at the solidarity rallies is powerful and impactful.
Survivors, we are fighting with you. You are loved and supported.
Thank you CMHA for your amazing work during mental health week last week and sharing resources community members can access to support their mental wellness. You are appreciated!
We continue to show up for E.M. as she testifies for the 6th day against sexual assault. We will continue to rally in solidarity as long as she is on the stand.

Everyone has the right to mental health. But what does this mean?🤔
This means that everyone has a right to:
💙 accessible and good quality care, especially community-based care
💙 liberty, independence, and inclusion in the community
💙 make decisions about their own health
