Wohoo, #newpaper! Choosing indicators is tough - there are lots to choose from and what makes a "good" indicator is not always clear. Add in social-ecological interactions and things get extra complex. Read how to deconstruct the complexity with a transparent selection process.

@carlyziter Reminding them to take their time. Like anything, you can get faster at reading articles with practice. I would get frustrated because I felt like I was reading soooooo slowly. Ignoring in-text citations during my first read-throughs helped reduce distractions.

@Bpdilla Not sure if this is what you were thinking...to be more specific, sometimes I draw out equations. Other times it's concept or variable bubbles with a ton of lines drawn between things. Depends what I'm stuck on.

@Bpdilla I don't have a set way of sketching, but it has almost always involved a white board. Something about being able to handwrite things out and then physically step to-and-from the board to adjust and reassess. It's always been helpful and I miss having one in my home office.
