Phillies playing bad? They make changes.
Mets playing bad? Let’s see how many different combinations we can try.
Team pisses me off more each and everyday that passes.
Pete was not good defensively. He was a great power hitter that SO a lot.
Nimmo was not good defensively. He was an above avg hitter.
Mcneil was defensively adequate. Outside of his 22 season, he is a below avg hitter, who does not hit for power.
Get over it. Move on.
I’ve heard a lot of people say the Mets lost a lot of power this winter. That’s simply not true.
Pete Alonso, Brandon Nimmo and Jeff McNeil combined for 75 home runs in 2025.
Bo Bichette, Jorge Polanco, Marcus Semien and Luis Robert Jr. combined for 73 home runs in 2025.
BREAKING: The New York Mets in agreement on a trade to acquire center fielder Luis Robert Jr. from the Chicago White Sox, sources tell ESPN. White Sox will receive two young players from the Mets.
One WS appearance (Lost)
Two NLCS appearances (1-1)
Missed playoffs 11 times.
Stop with the notion that this team - especially the core of Jeff, Pete, and Nimmo were going to do something.
Does it suck to lose them? Yes. But I hate watching this team lose.

Pache was the No.1 overall prospect in the Braves system in 2020 and 2021, not a bad minor league signing.
Pache has gold glove defense, great for depth if ever needed.
Bellinger - 1B
Semien - 2B
Lindor - SS
Bregman - 3B
Benge - LF
Tatis/Robert - CF
Soto - RF
Alvarez - C
That’s the only way this team is better than they were last year.
Mets notes, via @JonHeyman:
• Inquired on Luis Robert, but would want money back to offset his $20M salary.
• Have discussed a reunion with Tyler Rogers.
• Have interest in Cody Bellinger, who fits their run-prevention focus.

The only way this offseason turns around is with the signing of Bellinger, and trades for Tatis and Skubal
Outside of this; the #Mets have gotten significantly worse over the past three days. I’m giving Stearns the benefit of the doubt here, but his time is running short.
