We were honored to have Kristen Gudsnuk, a Graphic Novelist visit with students today. She worked with them to create a character for a graphic novel. It was an amazing morning and enjoyed by all.
8th grade dance students have been participating in a residency to study tap dance, and they had the opportunity to see Tap City at the Joyce Theater in Manhattan.
Students in the Civics Council took part in a meaningful community service trip at Ronald McDonald House Charities of New Hyde Park. Students worked together to bake goods for the families staying there, bringing comfort and a sense of normalcy to those facing difficult times.
6th grade dance classes have been participating in an Indian Dance residency. They are getting ready to perform Garba, a Punjabi folk dance and Satoliya, a Rajasthani folk dance for the Asian Culture Club's May 12th performance!
We were honored to have Mr. Sami Steigman, a motivational speaker and Holocaust survivor, share some knowledge and experiences. His message to students is that it is their job to create a better, more loving world. He also stated, "Teach not only the mind, but also the heart."
