It insisted that prices must be cost-reflective in line with the provisions of the Petroleum Industry Act 2021.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU), Hafsat Abubakar Bakari, received Miss Amra Onize Salihu, a 500-level Law student of the University of Abuja, ahead of her participation in the 9th Inter-Governmental Action Group against Money Laundering in West Africa (GIABA) Inter-University Speech Contest.
Miss Salihu will represent Nigeria at the regional competition in Freetown, Sierra Leone, where students from across West Africa will discuss the impact of Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) measures on regional economies.
During the visit, the NFIU CEO commended @GiabaEcowas for promoting awareness of AML/CFT issues among young people and encouraged Miss Salihu to approach the competition with confidence, excellence and a strong sense of national pride.
A distinguished debater and advocate, Miss Salihu recently emerged as the National Champion of the 2026 Amnesty International Intervarsity Debate Competition, outperforming contestants from 24 universities across Nigeria. Her achievement reflects outstanding dedication to legal reasoning, public speaking, advocacy and leadership.
