There’s something deeply humbling about hearing him talk about 16–17-year-olds leaving their families, their homes and every bit of comfort they’ve known to enter the NDA and begin preparing for a life of service.

And then there’s the rest of us, with our homes, comforts and everything we need within reach, yet we still find ourselves giving in to the smallest excuses and desires. I know I do.

The men of this breed are a breed apart. choosing hardship over comfort, discipline over ease, and service over self. There’s a certain kind of courage, conviction and honour they carry that is very difficult to put into words.

A different kind of respect for these men altogether. 🇮🇳
