What a great weekend surf fishing the VA barrier islands. Black Drum were a blast to catch. We had 6 of them up to 36" @ 30 lbs.

Spring Black Drum fishing on Assateague Island. I look forward to the spring Black Drum run all winter. Great time out on the beach. All they were taking were sand fleas and crabs.

The spring Assateague Island Black Drum run is a classic for surf fishing anglers. We had a great trip this weekend with lot's of Black Drum keeping us busy.

Spring Stripers in the surf in #Virginia have been a bit rare the last 10 years, but we're seeing a come back. Here's a nice spring catch by my brother on #assateagueisland VA. Right after I told him he would never catch one in the middle of a sunny day.

Spring in the surf, yeah, that means #balckdrum. My brother hooked into a few nice ones on Assateague Island, VA in May. His favorite @DaiwaUSA BG 5000 reel really did the job. Thanks to Captain Steves and Sea Hawk Sports Center for keeping us in bait.

Day two ice fishing Lake Onota. 50 mph wind gusts made for a challenging but fun day Ice fishing. My @KastKingUSA gloves, @AftcoFishing reeper and strikerice boots kept me comfortable. My second #Pike.

Probably the the most beautiful fish of the trip was this big Smallmouth. We fished twelve hours on day one and the traps kept us moving. Lake Onota was fantastic for ice fishing
