Dr. Shrikant Patil, Chief Executive Officer, Maharashtra State Innovation Society (MSInS), led a strategic discussion with The Udaiti Foundation on the proposed Women Entrepreneurship Hub and its potential to strengthen Maharashtra’s women startup and entrepreneurship ecosystem.

The discussion focused on building a robust ecosystem to understand the entrepreneurial landscape for women across districts, from access to finance and markets to mentorship, formalization and opportunities for enterprise growth.

Additionally, MSInS and Udaiti Foundation are working on district-level Index which can bring greater visibility to regional strengths and gaps, enabling evidence-based planning, sharper interventions and better allocation of support where it is needed most.

Through initiatives such as the Women Entrepreneurship Hub and Index, MSInS aims to move towards a more measurable and locally responsive approach to advancing women-led enterprises across Maharashtra.

@MSInSociety participated in the FICCI–U.S. Consulate General Mumbai CXO Meet on Artificial Intelligence at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai. The high-level interaction brought together policymakers, industry leaders and CXOs to deliberate on the rapidly evolving role of Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies.

Speaking at the interaction, Dr. Shrikant Patil, Chief Executive Officer, MSInS, highlighted Maharashtra’s focus on building a strong, innovation-led ecosystem where AI and emerging technologies can enable startups, strengthen industries and contribute to technology-driven economic growth.

The discussions explored the evolving role of Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies, opportunities for deeper India–U.S. collaboration, and the importance of building strong innovation ecosystems that enable technology-led economic growth.

Strengthening Maharashtra’s Clean Energy & Green Hydrogen ecosystem.

@MSInSociety , in collaboration with Venture Center and Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) -NCL, marked an important milestone with the launch of the Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Clean Energy & Green Hydrogen in Pune.

The program featured the inauguration of the Startup Showcase, launch of the Energy Innovation Talk Series, unveiling of the CoE website, and the inauguration of the CoE by Dr. R. A. Mashelkar, Padma Vibhushan. The event was graced by Smt. Manisha Verma , IAS, ACS SEEID, and Dr. Shrikant Patil , CEO, MSInS.

The program witnessed the inauguration of the Fuel Cell & Electrolyzer Testing Facility and the Advanced Battery Testing Facility, expanding the testing infrastructure available for next-generation clean energy technologies.

The CoE will provide a strong platform for startups, researchers and innovators working in clean energy and green hydrogen, giving them access to specialised infrastructure and creating stronger pathways for technology validation, collaboration and development of market-ready solutions.

The Centre represents another step towards building a stronger bridge between research, innovation and entrepreneurship, while accelerating the development of sustainable energy solutions from Maharashtra.

Strengthening Maharashtra–UK Innovation Partnerships

Maharashtra State Innovation Society (MSInS) had the privilege of hosting a distinguished delegation from the United Kingdom’s West Yorkshire Combined Authority, led by Mr. Alex Wright, for a productive discussion on strengthening collaboration across innovation, startups, and emerging technologies.

The meeting was chaired by Dr. Shrikant Patil, CEO, MSInS, who highlighted Maharashtra’s strong commitment to building global innovation partnerships that create meaningful opportunities for startups, academic institutions, industry from the startup ecosystem. Dr. Shrikant Patil, CEO, MSInS, attended the conclave as the Chief Guest, where he engaged with students, industry leaders, and academicians on the importance of strengthening industry–academia collaboration to drive meaningful impact for society and the economy.

Dr. Patil also inaugurated the AWaDH Cyber-Physical Systems Lab at MIT-WPU, a collaborative initiative with IIT Ropar under the DST NM-ICPS mission, appreciating it as a significant step toward advancing deep-tech innovation in agriculture and water technologies.

He further appreciated MIT-WPU for creating a unique ecosystem that blends spirituality, education, and innovation to nurture future-ready talent.

@MSInSociety successfully hosted a two-day Strategic Workshop for its supported incubation centres, bringing together incubation leaders, academic institutions, and ecosystem stakeholders from across the state.

Maharashtra today has built a strong and growing network of 29 MSInS-supported incubation centres across academic institutions, research organisations, and innovation hubs. These centres play a crucial role in nurturing early-stage startups, supporting technology commercialization, and enabling entrepreneurs to transform ideas into scalable ventures.

A key highlight of the workshop was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with leading institutions such as VJTI and @IIMNagpurIndia , further strengthening the state’s incubation ecosystem. These collaborations will enhance institutional capabilities, promote innovation, and expand support for startups across regions, including Vidarbha.

Hon. Minister, Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Shri @MPLodha, reiterated the Government’s commitment to building a robust and inclusive startup ecosystem. Hon. Additional Chief Secretary, Smt. Manisha Verma, IAS, emphasized the need to strengthen institutional capacity to better support early-stage innovators.

Dr. Shrikant Patil, CEO, MSInS, highlighted that the strength of a startup ecosystem lies not just in the number of startups, but in the quality of support systems. He emphasized MSInS’s vision of building a connected and collaborative network of incubators across Maharashtra.

The workshop also featured insightful sessions by Shri Ramanan Ramanathan and Mr. Prasad Menon, focusing on strengthening incubation practices and highlighting the importance of financial, operational, and strategic sustainability of incubators.

The initiative provided a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and aligning efforts towards building a stronger and more sustainable startup ecosystem in Maharashtra.
