The Maharashtra Startup Roadshow in collaboration with Hub brussels held at NCL Ventures, Pune, brought together founders, innovators, and global ecosystem leaders to explore international opportunities and collaborations.
The session featured an insightful on Hub Brussels, where leaders including Bart Vandeputte - Trade Commissioner for Brussels , Arne Aertbeliën - Area Manager Invest – Asia, Dhanashree Gawankar - Trade & Investment officer, and Daljit Singh Kohli- India Representative for Port of Antwerp-Bruges highlighted how Brussels can serve as a strategic gateway for Indian startups into Europe.
Dr. Shrikant Patil, CEO, Maharashtra State Innovation Society (MSInS), delivered a special address emphasizing the importance of global market access, cross-border partnerships, and enabling Maharashtra’s startups to scale beyond boundaries.

Dr. Shrikant Patil, CEO, MSInS, attended the conclave as the Chief Guest, where he engaged with students, industry leaders, and academicians on the importance of strengthening industry–academia collaboration to drive meaningful impact for society and the economy.
In his address, Dr. Patil highlighted emerging opportunities in rural entrepreneurship and health-tech innovation, while emphasizing the need to build inclusive, future-ready ecosystems. He shared the Government of Maharashtra’s vision of developing a world-class Innovation City in Navi Mumbai, along with efforts to strengthen regional innovation hubs and enable micro-incubators across Tier-2 cities to expand access to entrepreneurship.
He also spoke about key initiatives such as the BIRSA scheme, which focuses on empowering tribal communities through grassroots innovation and entrepreneurship. Reflecting on global economic shifts, he underscored the growing importance of sectors like rare earth elements and encouraged innovators to explore opportunities in this strategic space.
Dr. Patil also inaugurated the AWaDH Cyber-Physical Systems Lab at MIT-WPU, a collaborative initiative with IIT Ropar under the DST NM-ICPS mission, appreciating it as a significant step toward advancing deep-tech innovation in agriculture and water technologies.
He further appreciated MIT-WPU for creating a unique ecosystem that blends spirituality, education, and innovation to nurture future-ready talent.

@MSInSociety successfully hosted a two-day Strategic Workshop for its supported incubation centres, bringing together incubation leaders, academic institutions, and ecosystem stakeholders from across the state.
Maharashtra today has built a strong and growing network of 29 MSInS-supported incubation centres across academic institutions, research organisations, and innovation hubs. These centres play a crucial role in nurturing early-stage startups, supporting technology commercialization, and enabling entrepreneurs to transform ideas into scalable ventures.
A key highlight of the workshop was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with leading institutions such as VJTI and @IIMNagpurIndia , further strengthening the state’s incubation ecosystem. These collaborations will enhance institutional capabilities, promote innovation, and expand support for startups across regions, including Vidarbha.
Hon. Minister, Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Shri @MPLodha, reiterated the Government’s commitment to building a robust and inclusive startup ecosystem. Hon. Additional Chief Secretary, Smt. Manisha Verma, IAS, emphasized the need to strengthen institutional capacity to better support early-stage innovators.
Dr. Shrikant Patil, CEO, MSInS, highlighted that the strength of a startup ecosystem lies not just in the number of startups, but in the quality of support systems. He emphasized MSInS’s vision of building a connected and collaborative network of incubators across Maharashtra.
The workshop also featured insightful sessions by Shri Ramanan Ramanathan and Mr. Prasad Menon, focusing on strengthening incubation practices and highlighting the importance of financial, operational, and strategic sustainability of incubators.
The initiative provided a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and aligning efforts towards building a stronger and more sustainable startup ecosystem in Maharashtra.

At the Regional Startup and Innovation Dialogue held in Nanded, @MSInSociety reaffirmed its commitment to taking Maharashtra’s startup ecosystem beyond metros and into districts, talukas, and rural communities.

During the interaction, Mr. Bart Vandeputte, Trade Commissioner, Consulate General of Belgium, shared insights on exploring the funding ecosystem, roadshow collaborations, R&D-based projects, and IT and Robotics focused acceleration programs aimed at supporting startups in their growth and global market access journeys.

.@MSInSociety invites applications from eligible startups to design, develop, and deploy “MahaGAD AI Sahayak” - an AI-Based GR Information Management System for the General Administration Department (GAD), Government of Maharashtra (GoM).
The selected startup(s) will be required to develop an on-premise, secure, scalable system to support search, retrieval, summarization, and AI-assisted interpretation of AIS/IAS rules and Government Resolutions (GRs) with Marathi and English support and source-cited answers. The solution must include a secure GR repository, ingestion and indexing pipeline (Elasticsearch or equivalent), admin console, and usage analytics dashboards, and must be deployed within Government infrastructure in a containerized manner.

.@MSInSociety CEO Dr. Shrikant Patil inaugurated the new Incubation Centre at Wainganga Institute, Nagpur, supported and funded by MSInS under Incubators Scheme, to strengthen the startup and innovation ecosystem of Nagpur and the Vidarbha region.

The incubation centre will offer structured support, mentorship, and access to essential resources, helping early stage startups and innovators move from idea to execution.
