🥭 From Telangana Villages to Global Markets 🌍
The story of Telangana’s women-led rural transformation is now reaching international shelves.
A small mango farmer from Pebbair village in Wanaparthy exporting just eight crates of Mallika mangoes overseas may appear modest but it represents a massive breakthrough for thousands of small and marginal farmers across Telangana.
Under the guidance of Panchayat Raj & Rural Development Minister Dr. Danasari Anasuya Seethakka, women Self-Help Groups and Farmer Producer Organisations are rewriting the rural economy through collective marketing, scientific farming, and global market access.
💪 Through Be’nishan Federation — a women-supported network of 84 Farmer Producer Organisations spread across 30 districts — small farmers are now directly connected to export markets, major retail chains, and food processing industries.
📈 The impact is extraordinary:
✅ ₹463 crore cumulative business achieved
✅ Over 1.09 lakh small & marginal farmers connected
✅ Farmers earning 15–20% higher income
✅ Payments settled within 2 days
✅ Thousands of rural livelihoods strengthened
🛒 Telangana produce now reaches Reliance, Flipkart, Big Basket, Metro, More, Star Bazaar and international buyers.
🌱 Women SHGs are no longer limited to savings groups. They are becoming exporters, agri-entrepreneurs, supply-chain managers, and drivers of rural economic growth.
From grading and sorting to scientific harvesting and export-quality packaging, Telangana women are proving that rural India can compete globally with quality, organisation, and determination.
✨ Telangana’s women are not just growing mangoes.
They are cultivating confidence, dignity, livelihoods, and global recognition for rural communities.

🌳✨ A Revolutionary Breakthrough from Telangana
Researchers at FCRI, Mulugu have achieved a major milestone by developing an advanced germination technique for Givotia rottleriformis (Poniki) the tree behind the world-famous Nirmal Handicrafts 🪵🎨
👏 Led by Ms. Maloth Mounika (https://t.co/JWHrETChyk. Scholar) under Dr. Reeja Sundaram, this innovation boosts germination success to 75–80%, ensuring the revival of this rare species that sustains hundreds of artisan families.
🌿 “This is not just about conserving a native tree, but also preserving Telangana’s cultural heritage and supporting artisan livelihoods,” said Mr. V. Krishna, IFS, Dean, FCRI.
The technique—pending patent—marks a new era for eco-restoration, craft-based economy, and sustainable forestry in Telangana. 🌱💚
New germination technique boosts survival of Givotia rottleriformis, paving the way for conservation and artisan livelihoods.
In a major scientific breakthrough, researchers at the Forest College and Research Institute (FCRI), Mulugu, Telangana, have successfully developed an improved germination technique for Givotia rottleriformis, a rare tree species crucial to the famous Nirmal handicraft industry. The innovation promises to revive dwindling populations of the species and support the livelihoods of hundreds of artisan families.
Givotia rottleriformis, locally known as Poniki, is renowned for its soft and lightweight wood, ideal for crafting toys, figurines, lacquered artefacts, and traditional art pieces that hold the Geographical Indication (GI) tag of Nirmal, Telangana. However, its natural populations have sharply declined due to poor regeneration, seed dormancy, and habitat degradation, making the species increasingly difficult to cultivate.
The breakthrough was achieved by Ms. Maloth Mounika, https://t.co/JWHrETChyk. Research scholar, under the guidance of Dr. Reeja Sundaram, Assistant Professor, Department of Tree Breeding and Improvement at FCRI. Their newly developed protocol, pending patent approval, has successfully enhanced seed germination rates to 75–80%, overcoming long-standing challenges posed by the tree’s hard, water-impermeable seed coat and prolonged dormancy.
Speaking about the achievement, the Dean of FCRI, Mr. V. Krishna, IFS, stated:
“This achievement reflects FCRI’s commitment to blending scientific innovation with cultural preservation for socio-economic development of forest-based industries and communities. Reviving Givotia rottleriformis is not just about protecting a native tree species, it is about sustaining the livelihoods of artisan communities and preserving Telangana’s unique heritage. We are proud that our young researchers are contributing solutions of national importance.”
Givotia rottleriformis is native to dry deciduous forests of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Kerala, and Sri Lanka, where it thrives in rocky and degraded landscapes. Beyond its utility in woodcraft, the species is valued in traditional medicine for its anti-psoriatic, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties.
This pioneering germination method developed at FCRI opens new pathways for large-scale plantation, ecological restoration, and conservation of craft-based livelihoods. The institution plans to transfer this technology to forest departments and artisan clusters to ensure a sustainable supply of raw material for the well-known Nirmal toy industry.

@INC_Ponguleti@revanth_anumula@Ponnam_INC Sir @INC_Ponguleti What about the GPO's appointment order . Why delay, the screening test is done , donno why your government is lagging behind . Prove to make INC Telangana a good government.
For years, Karimnagar District @Collector_KNR Smt. @PamelaSatpathy , silently endured chronic health issues—severe headaches, nasal congestion, sinus blockages, sinusitis, and breathing difficulties. Like many, she sought temporary relief through medications prescribed by #ENT specialists across various districts.
But as her condition worsened, she made a bold and inspiring decision—rooted in firsthand experience and deep conviction. Having closely witnessed the commitment, skill, and compassion of doctors at the Karimnagar #GovernmentHospital, she placed her complete trust in the public healthcare system.
With faith in their expertise, she chose to undergo Endoscopic Nasal Surgery and Septoplasty right at the government hospital—marking a historic first for any District Collector in the state.
The complex procedure was successfully performed under the guidance of GGH Medical Superintendent Dr. G. Veerareddy. A dedicated team of professionals came together to make it possible: ENT surgeons Dr. L. Ravikanth, Dr. Sandeep, and Dr. Madhumitha; anesthesiologists Dr. Shantan Kumar, Dr. Chandrashekhar, Dr. Satish, and Dr. Sangeetha; physician Dr. Naveena Madam; and nursing officers Sister Madhavi, Sister Mamatha, and Sister Sujatha.
Their collective effort didn’t just ensure her recovery—it became a shining example of what’s possible in government hospitals when dedication meets infrastructure.
Today, government hospitals are no longer just institutions—they are centers of healing equipped with modern facilities, expert doctors, and compassionate staff.
Belief that quality care is not a privilege, but a right—available to all, in our own government hospitals.
And through her courage and trust, Collector Pamela Satpathy has rekindled that belief for many.
The government led by Honourable Chief Minister @revanth_anumula is giving top priority to enhancing healthcare infrastructure. Significant improvements have already been made, with numerous facilities added to the hospital. Heartfelt thanks to the Honble Chief Minister for his commitment to public health.

Every time I visit Hyderabad, I come away with a distinct impression of it being India’s truly future ready big metropolis that combines old world charm with new age energies .. . If I had any choice as to which city should be showcased as India’s Olympic host in 2036, Hyderabad would be right on top. Has the sports infra, land bank, big ticket project efficiency, vibrant service sector, multi cultural ethos (multiple language proficiency) to be seriously considered. Has a rich sports history too (India’s contemporary badminton capital!). Agree? (Pl feel free to suggest options and why).
