@martinrev21 Yes, even if renewables appreciably reduced emissions (they don’t in the real world, all factors considered), every extra kWh comes with a carbon cost. Billionaires, wealthy investors, governments all want endless growth in energy demands. Renewables give the illusion can b green
No one can claim to care about the environment and support population growth. It's time @Greens made a choice.
For that matter, it's time every so-called environmentalist made a choice- which camp are you in?
(& don't play the gutless 'one foot in each camp' cop out- Choose!)
Most stop giving a damn about wildlife,
if protecting it means they have to give up their love affair with human population growth..
It's an absolute 100% FACT, that if we stopped growing, even started shrinking our numbers, wildlife would stand a better chance.
A mother koala clambers up a eucalyptus tree with a backriding koala joey. Lotus Creek wind farm site - nearby (I wasn't trespassing). Lotus Creek wind farm, owned by the Queensland Government, is environmentally catastrophic and will cause the destruction of 400ha of habitat.

Berautiful Emmagen Creek mouth. Part of the lowland and mountain tropical rainforest wilderness that is the Cape Tribulation area. Impacts continue, but hopefully are being somewhat negated by organisations which are doing buybacks of freehold land for conservation. #aerial
Eastern Grey Kangaroos on the beach at sunrise. This was once not an uncommon sight. Now very rare in Queensland, and now a tourist attraction. But we had to have growth. The current generation have no idea what has already been lost to development, and the next generations.....?
Last rays of sunlight on an escarpment at Blackdown Tableland, central Queensland. A beautiful forest oasis set above the unsustainable madness of agricultural clearing, coal mines, CSG, and wind industrialisation elsewhere in central Queensland.
Its likely that she and her joey will be killed.
The other name of the Sharman's Rock Wallaby (Petrogale sharmani) is the Mt Claro Rock Wallaby. Mt Claro is actually not far from where this photo was taken, and it will be impacted by wind turbines and transmission lines.
A beautiful Sharman's Rock Wallaby near Mt Fox, North Queensland. I found this mother and joey just sitting on a rock in the morning sun. I approached quietly and she wasn't too bothered by my presence. Her habitat will be destroyed by the upcoming Mt Fox Wind Farm...
