@what_says2929@ArchTheAtheist This is an honest read that shows YHWH is the hypocritical megalomaniac that he is with arbitrary and capricious demands for people to believe.
@Godisgreat202@ArchTheAtheist Paul is one person, saying that there were 500 witnesses. Paul himself had a vision, though the 2 accounts contradict, they are both clear Paul's experience was spiritual. And he really believed in that experience, as others presumably did. That's one persuasive witness.
@todd_thacker@AlphaForDummies@ArchTheAtheist There were many myths of resurrected gods. Now when one of them gets the ear of the rulers and is backed by military might- turns out that's the recipe for success. Also no evidence for 300 years of widespread torture. Victors write the history.
@ArchTheAtheist There seems to be some confusion about the "hot, dense state." No one ever said it was infinitely anything. It seems to have existed as energy that expanded. E=MC2 explains the transformation. The "density" is inferred given the vast amounts of matter from that initial state.
@ArchTheAtheist This means he really believes his religion and is concerned about its harsh outcomes for non-believers. Most would not bother with you. It also means he might be open to discourse since he would see an opportunity to win you over. But just maybe.
@DivinelyDesined@MrrJano DNA is not a code. The explanation is shape. Certain chemical shapes fit together and signal the ribosomes to construct proteins. The letters and numbers are for our benefit. You have DNA instructions for a tail. And gills. Most of the time these genes are not expressed.
@PAHoyeck Sure. But if the meaning you extract from other's words does match their meaning, or if the meaning others extract from your words does not match the meaning you intend, then you're never going to be able to work together to accomplish goals.
@Askwhyisit What I want to know is how the author knew what Jesus prayed if he went off by himself. The author also knew what Pilate was thinking in his head.
@PAHoyeck Is this a problem that lies with the receiver of the message? Or the sender? My argument is that if most people are misunderstanding you in the same way, maybe the problem is that you really are serving salad and not the five course meal you think you are serving.
