We heard you! Many alumni, especially from our 2017–2022 cohorts and earlier bootcamps and training programmes, were missed in the first registration.

This November, we’re bringing alumni together in Arusha to shape the structure, governance and future of the YouLead Alumni Network. There are 40 in-person places with costs covered, plus a virtual participation track.

No separate application is needed. Selection will be based on the register, ensuring representation across programmes, cohorts and countries, while recognising continued engagement with YouLead.

If people are at the centre of social change, their realities must also shape how we understand the issues affecting them.

That is why gender-sensitive data gathering matters. It is not about meeting a quota, it is about ensuring women, men and diverse perspectives have meaningful space to contribute. When data reflects the communities we seek to serve, we can better understand the problem, design relevant solutions and create change that is meaningful and sustainable.

Through the Gender and Social Inclusion Programme, participants were exploring how inclusive data gathering can strengthen organisational decision-making and social change.

And as we move from understanding realities to designing solutions, our upcoming Project Planning & Management course [ https://t.co/NePZFAxnY3 ]will equip practitioners with the skills to plan, manage and deliver projects that respond effectively to real community needs.

The presentation reflected on the Charter’s journey since its adoption in 2006, examining the gap between the commitments made to Africa’s young people and their realities today.
