@jbcarmody Just 30 years of medical school admin experience here, but the only thing the MCAT measures is one's ability to take standardized tests. It does not tell us whether one will be a competent or compassionate physician "when it comes to saving lives".
Congratulations to Professor Paul Bridgman on his retirement after a 4-decade career as a celebrated neuroscientist and teacher at WashU. Read about his accomplishments in science and surfing!

What a beautiful tribute written by Drs. Wayne Yokoyama, Ken Murphy, Robert Schreiber & Marco Colonna.
Dr. Emil Unanue...you will certainly be missed. @wusm_pathology @WUSTLmed

@mehdirhasan This would be sad if it weren't so serious. As I stumble towards "the golden years" I can't help but think that the gerentocracy has to cede power to younger generations who have to live in this world in 2060. We had our time at the controls, and that time has passed.
We congratulate #WUPhysicianScientist Dr. Megan Cooper on her election to @the_asci! Dr. Cooper, a professor of pediatrics, specializes in diagnosing and treating rare genetic diseases affecting the immune system. @MACattackLab @WUSTLPeds
My older brother, Michael R. Green, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at the age of 69 late last week. This is a huge loss -- for his wife Maria, for @UMassChan, for me, for science.
@jaeger_natalia Natalie, this is extended to all PhD students at WUStL. The following needs to apply to your husband in order for you to be eligible: " spouse or partner is ...employed outside the home for a minimum of 20 hours per week." See https://t.co/xOp5a3lC41
@MandyMChan@MandyMChan , yes it does all PhD students at #WashU are covered as of this month. I just announced it for my MSTP students. Here is the link for more information: https://t.co/xOp5a3lC41
@chiachapet All PhD students at WashU receive the benefit as of this month. I did not want to steal anyone's thunder, so I limited my announcement to the MSTP. Details are at https://t.co/xOp5a3lC41
