We had a blast at our graduate social! Over 60 SLP grad students, faculty, and staff participated. SLP-related door prizes for everyone were a big hit! There was some friendly competition between the 1st and 2nd year students with the 2nd years winning this year!
Last week we had our end-of-the-year NSSLHA/Collegiate-Sertoma banquet! It was a great time to reflect on the year. The skits were hilarious and the scholarships were appreciated.
Fargo Moorhead Sertoma held their board meeting in the SLHS department on April 8. Collegiate Sertoma presented on their many activities and Dr. Mary Drake demonstrated the use of audiology equipment purchased by a grant through National Sertoma!
Congratulations to Katelyn Lee, one of our 1st year graduate students for being named the 2024 graduate student employee of the year! We are so proud of her and are so lucky to have her in our program 🥳
The first-year graduate cohort practiced in-depth oral-peripheral examinations with an emphasis on pediatric swallowing during their first swallowing class of the year with Mrs. Jess Stecher!
We are welcoming Jess Stecher as an adjunct professor! She graduated from MSUM in 2014 and specializes in Pediatric Feeding Therapy. Her favorite part of being an SLP is building relationships with the entire family, to empower parents to be part of their child's firsts.
MSUM professor Nancy Paul and professor emeritus Bruce Hanson were among FM Sertoma club members putting up flags at Lindenwood in honor of Juneteenth 🇺🇸
As May soon comes to a close, we want to express our gratitude for all speech-language pathologists and speech-language pathology students for the life-changing work they do!
Happy better hearing and speech month! 🗣 🧠 👂🏼 🤍
