Today, I had the pleasure of receiving Mr. Alain Délétroz, Director General of Geneva Call, who was leading a high-level delegation from the organization, at my office at the Ministry.
The meeting provided an opportunity to review prospects for cooperation between our country and the international humanitarian organization, as well as to exchange views on a range of issues of mutual interest.

سعدت اليوم باستقبال سعادة السيد آلان ديلتروز، المدير العام لمنظمة نداء جنيف، على رأس وفد رفيع من المنظمة في مكتبي بالوزارة.

Today, Friday, I met with Dr. Charlotte Faty Ndiaye, the Resident Representative of the World Health Organization in our country. The meeting provided an opportunity to review the ongoing cooperation between our country and the World Health Organization and to explore ways of further strengthening and expanding this partnership. We also exchanged views on a number of current issues and developments of mutual interest.

Today, Monday, I had the honour of meeting at my office with Mr. Claude Kacouli, Representative and Country Director of the World Food Programme in Mauritania.
Our discussions focused on the existing partnership between our country and the World Food Programme, as well as on ways to further strengthen and advance this cooperation to the highest levels in service of the interests of the Mauritanian people. We also exchanged views on a number of issues of mutual interest.

التقيت اليوم الاثنين بالمكتب السيد كلود كاكولي، الممثل والمدير القُطري لبرنامج الأغذية العالمي في بلادنا.
تركزت مباحثاتنا حول العلاقات القائمة بين بلادنا وبرنامج الغذاء العالمي وسبل توطيدها وآليات الدفع بها الى أعلى المستويات خدمة لمصالح الشعب الموريتاني، كما تبادلنا وجهات النظر حول عدد من القضايا ذات الاهتمام المشترك.

Today, I received at my office a Spanish delegation led by Mr. Santiago Yerga, Director-General for Migration at the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration of the Kingdom of Spain.
During our meeting, we reviewed the bilateral relations between our two friendly countries and discussed ways to strengthen and further develop them in service of our shared interests. We also exchanged views on issues of mutual concern.

À l’occasion du centenaire du président Abdoulaye Wade, je ressens une profonde émotion en rendant hommage à l’une des plus grandes figures politiques et morales de notre continent.
Le président Wade appartient à cette génération rare d’hommes d’État qui ont marqué l’histoire par leur courage, leur liberté de pensée, leur vision et leur fidélité constante à l’idéal africain. Pour plusieurs générations, il demeure une référence morale, un modèle d’engagement et une source inépuisable d’inspiration.
J’ai eu l’honneur de travailler à ses côtés lorsque j’étais Haut-Commissaire de l’OMVS et qu’il dirigeait le Sénégal. Cette période de collaboration m’a permis de mesurer la profondeur de sa vision pour l’intégration régionale, son attachement sincère à la coopération entre nos peuples et son ambition inlassable pour une Afrique forte, souveraine et respectée.
Au-delà de l’homme d’État, j’ai toujours éprouvé pour lui une proximité particulière, faite d’estime, d’affection et d’une forme de filiation intellectuelle et humaine. J’ai énormément appris de lui : le sens du devoir, la constance dans les convictions, le courage dans l’épreuve, la recherche constante de la perfection et la confiance inébranlable dans le destin de l’Afrique.
À 100 ans, le président Abdoulaye Wade continue d’éclairer notre temps par la force de son parcours, la hauteur de son héritage et son leadership hors du commun. Son itinéraire rappelle que les grandes destinées se construisent dans la vision, le sacrifice et le service des peuples.
Je lui adresse, avec une profonde déférence et une sincère affection, mes vœux les plus chaleureux de santé, de paix et de sérénité. Qu’Allah le Tout Puissant le protège et lui accorde encore de belles années parmi nous.

Our discussions provided an opportunity to review the friendly bilateral relations between our two countries and explore ways to further strengthen and develop them in the service of our mutual interests. We also exchanged views on issues of common interest.
