First: a drawing showing that *partial* transection of a vessel often leads to much more bleeding than complete transection.

→ This paper from Norway identified 77 >90 years old, 1 362 80 - 89 years, and 4 590 <80 years operated for AAA 2015-21. In asymptomatic nonagenarians, 30D mortality rate was 2.5%, with good 3 year survival. Median survival after rupture was only 0.1 year.
