@tom_mckinney Delighted to hear the dawn chorus today with the song thrush. I,m just back from a month's visit to the UK. I heard both the blackbird and the song thrush there - and on my last morning, the robin in some bushes nearby. Moneesha in Calcutta
@tom_mckinney Also loving your dawn chorus. I'm an enthusiastic birder, bought a handbook of British birds and have been able to identify the birds around where I am. What a beauty the red kite is! Moneesha - from Calcutta
@tom_mckinney I'm in England for a few weeks, really enjoying listening to Radio 3 here. Going tonight to a Haydn concert in the Sheldonian at Oxford and tomorrow to a Royal Philharmonic concert in Reading. Moneesha
@tom_mckinney Like the song of the Eastern Meadow Lark, our Magpie Robin is a lovely songster, one of the earliest that one hears. I don't have a recording, but would be great if you could play its song for everyone to enjoy. Moneesha
@MannGeorgia@BBCRadio3 Such lovely music today! Loving it. It's raining here too - pre-monsoon storm.
I'll be in the UK from the middle of June for a month, so shall be listening to you mid morning instead of in the afternoon.
Moneesha in Calcutta
@tom_mckinney @BBCRadio3 Hi from Calcutta. Loving the start of Breakfast with bird song. The cuckoo in Beethoven's symphony is a bird that we hear in our hills. These days, we hear our local version of the cuckoo, called a koel. Very distinctive call.

@Ianskellyradio3@BBCRadio3 Good evening from a warm and humid Calcutta.
I have really enjoyed this whole week of Essential Classics. Now listening to the lovely Buxtehude.

@PetrocTrelawny@BBCRadio3 If you ever do, please make sure that you let me know. I would love to meet you. Have enjoyed your book. And also the Prom in Battersea you presented that my son and I went to in 2022.
@MannGeorgia It is afternoon here by the time Essential Classics comes on. I always enjoy it, but more so now while I'm tied to my desk working on urgent deadlines for some books. Loving today's programme. Moneesha in Calcutta.
