On August 2023, NewJeans made history at Lollapalooza in Grant Park, Chicago, becoming the first K-pop girl group ever to perform at the festival. Just a little over a year into their debut, they stood on one of the biggest stages in the world and absolutely owned it.
They performed a 12-song set over 45 minutes, in front of an estimated 70,000 people and not just Bunnies, but festivalgoers who probably didn’t know what hit them. From start to finish, their stage presence was unreal. No nerves, no hesitation… just pure energy, charm, and total control.
What stood out the most was how natural and confident they were. Whether it was their clean live vocals, smooth choreography, or how easily they connected with the crowd, it felt like they’d been doing this for years. It wasn’t just impressive… it was electric.
Even online, the impact was massive. The performance was streamed live on Weverse and YouTube, drawing huge numbers and spreading their magic across the globe. For a group so young to command both the stage and the screen like that? Insane.
That Lolla stage wasn’t just a milestone, it was a statement. They weren’t just riding hype; they were proving themselves as true artists on a global level. A couple of years later, it still feels surreal just how powerful that moment was.
One day, they’ll be back on the global stage and when they are, it’s going to be legendary.
무대 위에서 보여준 에너지랑 열정이 너무 그리워요. 돌아올 때까지 기다릴게요. 분명 멋진 모습일 거라는 거 알아요. 뉴진스 화이팅!! 🩵
