Failure story.
I've been trying to get active leads from social media through organic posts, but got zero sales so far.
I reflected on the factors blocking the success:
1. Flagship product launch pending due to legal considerations:
Working in a Canadian start-up means I need to stay on top of legal matters. I'm consulting with an expert legal team to review the documents.
However, the flagship launch is at a standstill, so users cannot try out the product.
2. Late entry to the AI automation market:
The AI-savvy people in my network have already found their favorite AI workflows, and some have built tools with cheaper alternatives. Even if our tools can do a better job, the opportunity cost for the client to book a meeting and discuss our tools probably doesn't make sense at the moment.
3. General doubt:
How good are the products, actually? Some users have expressed interest but are still waiting to see the output. Hopefully, when we launch, the doubt will be gone or reduced enough to strike up an engaging conversation.
4. Lack of social proof:
The above four factors have kept the social proof numbers still and pinned our marketing success down.
5. More content required:
Content planning, production, distribution, and performance evaluation make up the content flywheel. It's a labor-intensive task, but the AI tools we use have been helpful. But there needs to be humans in the cockpit to direct the tools.
I've also been planning a paid ads campaign and a viral content series, but overall, these tasks require massive creative energy. And we lack the necessary human resources to tackle all fronts.
Apart from failing in social media, I've had some success from my network. I closed one deal, and another one is in the making.

My CTO reminded me that the AI Agent race will only last a few years, if we're lucky.
I'm glad I have a team to support me.
It's scary out there!
BREAKING: MIT just completed the first brain scan study of ChatGPT users & the results are terrifying.
Turns out, AI isn't making us more productive. It's making us cognitively bankrupt.
Here's what 4 months of data revealed:
(hint: we've been measuring productivity all wrong)
With a heavy heart, I tell you that my father, Donald Sutherland, has passed away. I personally think one of the most important actors in the history of film. Never daunted by a role, good, bad or ugly. He loved what he did and did what he loved, and one can never ask for more than that. A life well lived.
4 types of marketing, but with pancakes:
Brand marketing: “It’s home.”
Product marketing: “It’s an industry-leading syrup delivery system.”
Content marketing: “What’s the difference between pancakes and waffles?”
Demand gen: “Just eat it. EAT IT.”
