We are still reading! And we are still slow. We have 136 subs left. Consider this photo of Nathalie's cats as a token of our appreciation for your patience.
@Meredith_blkwel Hahahahah. I think if you can routinely reach things in your kitchen without climbing on the counter or don’t keep a step stool handy at home you’re probably average to tall. Imo. 5’4 seems like it’s tall to short people and short to tall people.
@nirvana_acres So after I typed that I think a tornado touched down in my neighborhood—I live in Baltimore. That’s not normal. Literally a dystopian evening. Where is this chosen one…..
@nirvana_acres I keep telling my spouse I’m tired of playing a haggard background adult in a teen dystopian novel. At this point I guess we just wait for the chosen one to finish their exams or something🤷🏼♀️
I’m super excited our next installment of the LM is up—but I’m even more stoked other folks are going to get to read Wonder Woman Gets Dressed by @LauraShovan. It’s a fun piece and you should totally check it out.
Two poems from @LauraShovan are live on our site! The first is Wonder Woman Gets Dressed, which examines the realities of aging with superhero spandex.

@jzpitts I love eavesdropping and write down good bits routinely. I think it’s helped me be able to better hear the dialogue of my characters by understanding other people’s speech patterns. Maybe? 🤷🏼♀️
First piece is live and I couldn’t be more excited for our fledging mag. Mad props to @NatQLawrence who has been our captain helping us navigate through this crazy, amazing, terrifying landscape!!!
You all! We have our first piece live on our website!!!
We’re in love with how it weaves together the complexities of Jewishness, classic werewolf movies, and house music. @yeaheyesyeah is a master of the braided essay.

This one time, I was defrauded and conned into buying a rat-infested apartment. So I wrote about it. Thanks to @PigeonReview for publishing my weird piece of flash!

@tarafitzwriter We randomly read Amy Tan in like 8th grade, but the high school was stacked with cis white men with Jane Austen and Edith Wharton thrown in for “diversity.”
Finding Janie in my early 20’s was amazing. I’m still so mad it took that long to readTheir Eyes Were Watching God.
