The Promenade of Cabers scheduled for today at 6:30 p.m. in Verdun has been canceled due to the high probability of thunderstorms this evening.
All other scheduled events, including tomorrow's Wee Ceilidh at the Burgundy Lion Pub, will proceed.

Scottish athletics at the Montreal Highland Games
The aim is for the caber to land in line with the original run. If it is straight the toss is said to be in the 12 o'clock position. Competitors are judged on how closely their toss lands to 12 o'clock.
Pipe band competitions at the Montreal Highland Games
The competition is presented in a standard pipe band competition format (circle-on-the-grass). Competing bands also march in the massed band presentation during the opening and closing ceremonies at 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Highland dancing is a style of competitive dance that blends elements of Scottish folk dancing with the conventions and discipline of ballet.
