We’re excited to welcome families to cheer on our pupils and enjoy a fantastic celebration of sport this June:

🕤 Infant Sports Day: 9.30am - 12pm
🕧 Junior Sports Day: 12.30pm - 3.30pm

📅 Wednesday 18 June
🕙 Senior Sports Day: 10am - 3.30pm

Refreshments will be available throughout, including Pimms during the afternoon sessions!

Great weekend of cricket for Nathan 🏏
3 wickets for @MTS_Sport on Saturday morning.
2 wickets and 53no on Saturday afternoon for @RainhillCric 2XI.
2 wickets and 85no on Sunday for Rainhill’s academy team.

On Friday 9th May, four Stanfield pupils took part in the U11 AJIS Tennis Tournament, hosted by King's School, Chester 🎾

Our team, made up of three U10s and one U9, performed brilliantly throughout the day and represented the school excellently.

Our youngest competitor, Oscar from Year 4, won the plate Competition! 🏅

After some impressive matches, none more so than in the semi-final against one of our other team members, William from Year 5, he subsequently secured a third-place finish!

In the Girls’ Plate Competition, Year 5 pupil Dania secured a runners-up place!

Meanwhile, Amelia performed admirably in the same competition, securing multiple wins throughout the day.

Another weekend of rugby success, this time coming from our OC’s with James, Ruben, Harvey, Mr Weare and Alex all winning the Lancashire Cup with @WaterlooRugby on Sunday afternoon, beating West Park (St Helens) 33-14 🏆 👏🏽

Well done to the U14 XV 🏉 team who have progressed through in the Lancashire Cup after a blockbuster game with Liverpool College this afternoon.

With both teams showing their physical intent to carry the ball forward MTS came out trumps winning 57-38 and into the semifinals 👏🏽

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Old Crosbeian and current Lancashire and England cricketer @tomwhartley2 back to Merchant Taylors’. He, along with our Head of Cricket, Gary Yates, led an exceptional coaching session for two of our budding cricket talents, Shivy and Caleb, as they aim to enhance their skills.

Tom’s visit marks the beginning of an exciting new cricket initiative for boys and girls at Merchant Taylors’ Schools, with more details to be announced in the near future.
