@EdgingtonC@NEEDTOBREATHE They opened the show with an a cappella/acoustic version of The Long Surrender. It was awesome.
Have you seen them live? If not, you absolutely should.
@ProfPaulNary@PEoperator I found supply chain after sales and fell in love, no selling but still working deals, still get to see outside businesses and use my technical skills, major business impact and complex/interesting problems to solve. There is nothing like it.
@PEoperator@ProfPaulNary I spent the first handful of years of my career in industrial sales. I learned a crazy amount not just about our products but manufacturing in general.
It set a foundation for me that is hard for anyone to compete with. So grateful for that unique opportunity.
I’ve spent 5 years living a crash course in transformation and PE ownership.
That chapter is ending with a $3.5B sale and now the next one begins.
If you’ve lived through the transition from PE to a large strategic owner, what’s the one thing you wish someone had told you?
@GabrielJClark 1 billion is a half acre and I think the exact words were: “If dumped out of a large container into a pile”….so however tall they would naturally stack I guess 😂
ChatGPT use case last night with my 3yr old and 6yr old:
“How big would a pile of 1,000,000 @Chik_Fil_A chicken tenders be?”
“What about 1,000,000,000?”
Mazda really didn’t have to gas up the turn signal the way they did.
That slow fade blink is so elegant it somehow elevates the feel of the entire car.
Not sure why everyone hasn’t copied it yet.
Anyone know who heads up turn signal design at Mazda? @MazdaUSA
I get to hold down the fort next week while the rest of our senior leaders meet up to do some annual planning.
For everyone’s sake, including my own, let’s make sure this doesn’t turn into a designated survivor situation…
@GabrielJClark Supplier margin erosion concern is an Elite perspective. Driving down price is sexy until you put a supplier out of business. Way easier to do than most realize
Want to know the difference between good and great in supply chain? Ask someone what they worry about when the oil market spikes.
Big 3 Consultant: Freight
Good: Castings
Great: Resins/Plastics
The Greats know it’s oil in disguise.
Deep knowledge, deeper scars…
