Come work with me at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. Great Histology, Gross Anatomy, and Neuroanatomy teaching opportunities here!
@DrKarenPinder@OsteoblastGirl This is a great idea. I've had around 4-5 students come to me with some scale of colorblindness this year. Luckily our student education center has accomodations for them if they can't see they slides very well.
@LauraEJohnson3 I don't think so. There's a couple tutoring sessions during the weekend, and around 15 total tutors, so never too overwhelming, at least according to the tutors
@amandameyerphd I'm the course director for both med and dental histo from Aug-Dec and we teach all the systems, with 5 lectures on teeth histo for the dental students
@DrDBentley I actually don't remember much of it, honestly. It was exciting and a little scary. I remember the first time I taught I dissection course to med students though. Also exciting and scary, but I felt more competent
@DrDBentley I remember thinking it was one of the coolest things I have ever experienced. I got to see a cadaver in undergrad, and then I got to dissect my first one in grad school
@DrDBentley I read the entire book in a bit under 2 weeks. It did fly by! Such a differenct perspective compared to what we anatomists see in our day to day
@caitskirby In my PhD program, I had to retake Medical Histology. I am now a course director for the Medical Histology Module at our medical and dental school. I felt like a failure at first, but it all worked out in the end
@KristaRompolski I can't wait until I get to this point. I guess I can take it as a compliment that people think I look young, but I hate being mistaken for a student when I have been a faculty member for almost 3 years now.
@Drewboo830 I've seen breast implants and a penis pump before. Not sure how other cosmetic/reconstructive procedures are easily seen in donors, esp since many of them are skin based (eg Botox)
@MikaelaStiver I had to Google what muscle was being referred to. Apparently orbicularis oculi. https://t.co/UCasc2VJHO. Though it says this muscle is WITHIN the eye. Uh, nope
@JPrangeKiel @FoveaCapitis@dranatpratt I believe one of the books was called Small Teaching and other was Make it Stick. I plan on reading both! That was a great session #Anatomy21
