@Kenisha62383461@EducationLaw2 Kenisha, I believe it will have an impact on our students... I sure hope its positive. With eyes and ears open to the protesting and the pandemic, student's safety is at the front line and ALL stakeholders better be ready.
@BowenShanta@EducationLaw2 Not only do some parents lack certification and qualification, but home schooling lack student-to-student interaction. Working with other students allows for sharing of ideas and strategies, building relationships, and supporting through peer feedback.
@Kenisha62383461@EmilyLPatrick1@EducationLaw2 That is great! If a parent is willing and can teach their child(ren) by proving a balance of problem solving, creativity, and application in all subjects then why not. My concern would be the interaction with others, but you stated she incorporates that as well.
@Kenisha62383461@EducationLaw2 The well-rounded student... Having interpersonal skills helps the child with interacting with others. Schooling should not only represent academics but also preparing children for the workforce. In order to keep a job and climb the ladder, interpersonal skills will be needed.
@GarntoHolly@EducationLaw2 Holly, putting in place yearly evals to determine appropriate programs, if the classroom setting is best, and if the program is beneficial will support the student and their educational journey. Everyone's journey doesn't have to take the same road!
With IDEIA's zero-reject philosophy, no child may be excluded from receiving a FAPE. Do you support the "zero-reject" philosophy or do you believe some students with severe disabilities should be excluded from IDEIA mandates? Why? #EducationLaw2
@CortneyPhilpot@EducationLaw2 Courtney, I agree with you. Funding should never be the deciding factor in giving every child the opportunity to receive an education. From federal down to state and on to county (district), zero-reject must be included in each school year's budget.
