@samuelluckhurst You’re an absolute excuse of a journalist. Drumming up bull just because the leaks have stopped and United want nothing to do with you.
Yuri Tielemans to Manchester United! Triggering that £35M release clause from Aston Villa is a seriously shrewd piece of business.
He’s completely Premier League proven, brings bag loads of experience, and in today’s market, it's a fantastic price. He's going to add so much quality to Carrick’s squad! 🔴🔥 #MUFC
Now that I have had time to process Aurélien Tchouaméni signing a new deal at Real Madrid, my overarching feeling is one of disappointment. I said before I wouldn't fall for the hype with big players being linked to Manchester United, but I have to say, Tchouaméni represented real excitement for me because I thought he was the ideal replacement for Casemiro.
There are still options out there. Manchester United's hierarchy has six weeks to prove to everybody that this transfer window has not been a complete and utter disaster. I like the signing of Santos on its own, and I like the signing of Ederson on its own. However, if they are to be the only two midfielders we sign, it will be a disaster of a midfield rebuild for Man United.
We need a number six. We need a Casemiro replacement. Whether that be Carlos Baleba, Adam Wharton, or Sander Berge—while these are all good players, I don't think they represent the same kind of quality as Tchouaméni. INEOS earned a glimmer of respect after last summer, but they've got six weeks now to prove that that was the correct viewpoint to have on them.
🚨⚪️ BREAKING: Aurélien Tchouaméni to sign new deal at Real Madrid soon, all agreed on contract until June 2031!
Real Madrid are ready to sign soon, as @FabriceHawkins@pepealvarezzz reported.
Man United deal never close due to high salary and Madrid not opening doors to exit.
