Mate, disagreement isn’t the issue. I actually welcome people having different opinions because otherwise there’s no conversation to be had. I just think you’re massively overstating the impact of a player having one year left. It might knock £5–10m off the fee, but clubs don’t usually take a £20m hit and sell well below what they believe the player is worth. At that point, many would rather keep him and risk losing him for free.

So he has one year left on his contract and suddenly he’s worth £20m less? Come on. That’s not realistic. Clubs don’t just slash a player’s value in half because the calendar says so, especially when there’s demand for him. It’s a perfectly reasonable deal. This just feels like agenda-driven engagement farming at this point. 👍
