The Durham Declaration on SETI and UAP Research, unveiled on April 24, 2025, at Durham University, is a formal statement advocating for the academic legitimacy and interdisciplinary study of the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) and Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP).

Against a backdrop of 69% of academics being worried that, if they carry out UAP research, they will be subject to social ridicule (Yingling & Yingling, 2024), this is an important step towards academic freedom around the UAP topic.
