🏆 Former Marquette University guard Tyler Kolek became the seventh player in program history to claim a National Basketball Association (NBA) title on Saturday when the New York Knicks defeated the San Antonio Spurs, 94-90, on the road to claim the seven-game series (4-1).
✌️ The second-year guard is the second Marquette alum to claim a title with the Knicks, joining Dean "The Dream" Meminger in 1972-73.
⛹️♂️ Kolek appeared in 70 games this season for the Knicks between regular and postseason action in 2025-26, netting a career-high 20 points at Minnesota on Dec. 23 to go along with 11 rebounds and eight assists.

I've been saying this for months and Dan sums it up well. An SEC breakaway makes no sense.
It's SEC schools/players/AGs who sue over NCAA rules more than anyone else. And you don't want to create stricter internal rules that would advantage the Big Ten for not having them.
Former Dominican and Marquette University guard Duane Wilson Jr. has been chosen to start the basketball program at Augustine Prep North, which opens in the fall on the former campus of Cardinal Stritch University.
College athletics is so crazy now.
Cal baseball, a team located on the Pacific coast but somehow in the ACC, flew to Charlotte, North Carolina for a single-elimination conference tournament game against Stanford… a school 90 minutes from their campus.
They traveled 2,715 miles across the country to play a regional rival, lost one game, then had to hop on a 5.5-hour flight back to California 😂
Three of the top four scorers from Florida Atlantic are headed to the Big East: Devin Vanterpool at PC (15.2), Josiah Parker with Gtown (9.8), and now Devin Williams (7.5).
Williams is a shot blocker, and the biggest question will be how he holds up with the physicality of the Big East. Skinny frame and just three and-1s last year.
