@MUNParents Because of COVID guidelines, anytime my daughter has a symptom she isn’t able to go to daycare. Last semester I missed a lot of class time because I had to be home with her. Half is my professors were not accommodating and my grades suffered greatly.

This means that to obtain a medical certificate to qualify for accommodation parents will have to develop psychological injury to qualify for accommodation. The other option is to quit school, lose funding and children suffer consequences. This is unethical! #SafeMUN4Everyone

Returning to campus without appropriate accommodations for student parents is extremely marginalizing for women and children. Asking us to navigate through the blundon center is inappropriate as it is only designed to support persons with disabilities.

Students who could not pick up during yesterday's event had their gifts delivered contactless to their homes.

SPARC practiced health and safety measures for yesterday's event including checking vax pass and mask wearing for attendees and volunteers.

Thank you to our volunteers! This year SPARC supported 31 children of students in undergraduate and graduate programs @MemorialU Children received toys, treats, gloves, essential hygiene products and food pantry items. 3 student parents won a $25 Tim's card! Great day! @MUNSU35

Thanks to a generous donation, all of SPARC's kids registered for the Stocking program are getting essential food and personal items, candy, chocolate, and TOYS! Thank you to our supporters, volunteers, and @MUNSU35 together we are going get some big smiles this holiday season!

@MemorialU has just released further info on vaccine requirements: Students, faculty, staff & visitors must have 1st dose by Sept. 7th & 2nd dose by Oct. 15, 2021, unless granted accommodation. Recognized vaccines inc those approved by the World Health Org /or Health Canada
