@DrEliDavid I was reliably informed by an Iranian women years ago, and in hilarious detail, that it’s standard procedure in all Iranian funerals. You’ve no choice. Everyone’s expected to cry and sob and roll around.
And of course, that’s exactly what everyone obediently does. It’s cultural.
@afneil Class struggle. It’s written into their DNA. The whole hard left narrative is always a 50/50 sales pitch of displaying compassion towards poverty, then calling for retribution against those who are happy.
All it can ever lead to is division. And generalised poverty.
@RachelMoiselle@EvelynSprn91594 Pubs. The bane of Ireland. And also the higher costs of food.
Pubs get the night crowds in Ireland. Restaurants would be open if they could turn a profit. Their costs are higher than in France. Paris doesn’t really have pubs. If you go out at night, it’s to eat or see a show.
@afneil Gimmickry on a stick.
And also very selfish.
What about the ministers he’ll have to be meeting on a daily basis? Will this be a government of Zoom meetings and anti-London symbolism?
The guy doesn’t even have a proper mandate of his own.
@afneil He’ll probably last as long as his predecessors. He doesn’t even have a personal mandate, only Starmer’s, the guy he stabbed in the back.
It’s weird that both he and his supporters seem so upbeat. Haven’t they been paying attention or something?
@OdohertyI64991 Basically they’ve become the Trojan Horse of Muslim Brotherhood entryism.
The Green Party. And of course university campuses.
Universities used to be the bastions of enlightened thinking. Now they’re like a cover for tunnel openings where the barbarians are pouring in.
@intel_lady I so wish you could get into the social and regional nuances of Irish accents. The equivalent of SNP, Sinn Fein, (originally the political wing of the IRA) has been taken over by middle class Dublin Southsiders who ham up their working class accents to appeal to core voters. Sad.
@GadSaad@Ibra_official Gad, I’m afraid you’ve just swallowed another mouthful of clickbait junk. However true the ideas may be, this long and devastating monologue was not spoken by the person supposedly being quoted.
Be vigilant. Lotta bullshit swimming around the pool.
@hothingsgirlsay Trying to please other people — especially those who want you to fail —- is the sure-fire recipe for madness.
Fuck ‘em.
Just keep playing the ball. It’s all about the end result.
@roisinmurphy Or David Mancuso, the patient zero of disco, who was not gay, but was brought up in an orphanage. Yes, there’s a giant gay dimension to disco history, but it was, first and foremost, a multicultural, druggy party scene from the tail end psychedelia. Latinos, blacks, gays, anyone!
@OdohertyI64991 There’s a thesis to be written on the parallels between Algeria and Ireland. The chipped shoulder, the self harm, the victimhood, the unconscious resentment towards more successful people. It’s a national obsession. Their media regularly erupts into mad conspiracist witch-hunts.
