Many of our athletes are going to use social media to try & improve their performance. Instead of telling them to "stay off" or even "be careful," I just try to share as much of the QUALITY info as possible in hopes they can learn to distinguish the good from the nonsense.
@MikeCunningham Disagree. Timing is good for testing & to provide a carrot every now & then. But if done consistently, it can damage the athlete mentally since they're not always ready to run at their best. My goal is to get 100% effort out of them & racing others is better than the clock imo
Please help us create more lasting memories by supporting our program. Your contribution goes directly toward scholarships, meals, equipment, and travel so that we can provide our current student-athletes with the experience they deserve.
π THANK YOU

Dear Ashlyn... & others. We too, hope that one day our current team can experience what itβs like to compete at a championship meet on home turf. We know what it'll take; we just need to raise the funds to get the job done.

ONCE A MARAUDER, ALWAYS A MARAUDER. That means this current team is still your team. The same pride, standard & sisterhood β it never leaves. If youβre able, please consider helping your teammates out by giving what you can today.

Had a Freshman tell me that she finally looked at the Tfrrs today. I could also see that the innocence was sucked out of her body and that she would never be the same. They grow up so fast!
With this next big snowstorm incoming. I'm reminded that instead of complaining about what we can't do, focus on the things that you can do. Control what you can control.
Remember there is no secret to training or secret methods.
If folks are not willing to share & be vulnerable in their programming don't be offended.
It simply tells you that the person is guarded & has an ego & is very protective of being vulnerable.
Just entered an athlete who hasn't ran in 3 years due to injury, into her first collegiate meet. Getting goosebumps. She can walk across the finish line for all I care. Just to race again after 3 years of grinding and setbacks is a win in its own right.
Time to figure out Spring Semester practice schedules. Oh & to add another twist, we have no outdoor lights this year due to the stadium renovation. Might have to invest in those flashlight caps
Great day of testing! 2 good races from the sprints & a time trial for the non-regional distance runners. Highlight of the day was an athlete coming to me, saying they felt nervous. GOOD, if we can work on getting through that feeling at practice, it'll be nothing come meet day.
