The Maldives' position on the Chagos issue has always been that Mauritius has no right to claim the Chagos, it is a British colony, and if the Chagos were to be decolonized, it should be returned to the Maldives.

އަޅުގަނޑު އެބަޔަކަށް ވަރަށް އިހްތިރާމާއި ޤަދަރު ކުރާ ބަޔަކު، ފޯޅަވެހި މައްސަލައާއި ބެހޭ ގޮތުން އެކަމާ ކަންބޮޑުވެގެން އެވާހަކަ ދައްކާ މީހުންނާއި ދިމާއަށް މަލާމާތްކޮށް ފުރައްސާރަ ކުރާތަން ފެނޭ. އެގޮތަށް ކަންތައްތައް ކުރަމުންދާ ބޭފުޅުންނަށް ދަންނަވާލަން އޮތީ މިއަދު އަމިއްލަ އެދުން އިސްކުރި ތިޔަބޭފުޅުންގެ ލެއިން އަންނަން ތިބި ދަރިންނަށް ޚިޔާނާތް ވެފައޭ. އަދި ތިޔަ��ޭފުޅުން ތިޔަ މަލާމާތް ކުރަނީ ވަޅުލާފައިވާ ތިޔަބޭފުޅުންގެ ކާބާފައިންނަށޭ.

އެތައް ހާސް އަހަރެއް ވީ ޤަދީމީ ދިވެހި ދައުލަތުގެ ބާރުގެ ދަށުގައި މަލިކުން ފަށައިގެން ފޯޅަވއްސާއި ހަމައަށްތިޔަބޭފުޅުންގެ ކާބަފައިން ވެރިކަން ކުރަމުން ގެންދެވި. އިސްތިޢުމާރުގެ ދުވަސްވަރު މިތަންތަނުގެ މައްޗަށް އޮތް ބާރު ގެއްލިގެން ދިޔަ. މިއަދު އެއީ ތިމަންމެންނާ ބެހޭ ތަންތަން ނޫންކަމަށް ހަދާފައި މުޅިން އެހެން ބައްރެއްގެ ބަޔަކަށް ސިޓީބިޓީ ފޮނުވާ އެތަންތަން ކަލޭމެންނަށް ހިބައިން ދިފީމުއޭ، ދިވެހި މަސް ކަނޑުން ބައެއް ވެސް ދީފީއުއޭ އަމޭ ގަންދާށޭ ބުނުމަކީ ލަދު ހުތުރު ކަމެއް. ގައިމު ވެސް އަޅުގަނޑު ތިޔަބޭފުޅުންގެ ހާލަތާއި މެދު ކަންބޮޑުވެ ލަދުގަނޭ.
