Think 100 times before buying Star Health Insurance!
I’m a retired bank employee who took @StarHealthIns through my bank, trusting it would protect my family during medical emergencies.
Recently, my wife was hospitalised twice for severe breathing difficulty/bronchopneumonia:
🏥 Kusuma Hospital: ₹32,462
🏥 Aster RV Hospital: ₹98,874
Both claims were rejected on the ground: “Hospitalisation is not medically necessary” (Exclusion Code 36).
Even after I obtained letters from the treating doctors confirming that hospitalisation was medically necessary, the answer remained: CLAIM REJECTED!
My questions to @StarHealthIns are simple:
• How can a medical team reject hospitalisation as “not medically necessary” without examining the patient?
• Why disregard the opinion of the treating doctors?
• In an emergency, should a family first check exclusion clauses before taking a seriously ill person to hospital?
• If hospitalisation is genuinely unnecessary, who takes responsibility if the patient’s condition worsens because treatment is delayed?
We pay premiums expecting financial and mental security during difficult times. If premiums are certain but genuine claims are uncertain, what exactly are we insured against?
I am sharing my experience to caution others—not to defame anyone.
Please read every clause, condition and exclusion carefully before buying health insurance.
And one more irony: the Star Health–bank tie-up that gave me confidence in taking this policy has now ended.
So there is no one left to “tie the tie” for our help—neither those wearing the tie nor those who have untied it! 😄
Looks like God Himself is our only hope! 🙏

@Raghavendr1363@StarHealthIns Shame on you @StarHealthIns. You don't have 10 paisa shame for doing this to innocent people. Thanks for letting us know this. Won't buy and recommend this health insurance to anyone.
@RaghvendraRobin@PMOIndia Why is that? Did the govt deploy these people do this risky job? They volunteerly did this right? If you go to swim and die in water, who is the reason for the death? Man, please grow up.
