The City of Mountain View City Council just voted to remove parking minimums in ~all of the densest parts of the city. This was a Housing Element program that got added to the Housing Element specifically due to advocacy from Mountain View YIMBY 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

AB 2097 lets cities decide what to do about hotels. Staff decided to mandate parking at hotels. Why did staff set that policy direction? They have no justification for it. It's also not even consistent with the city's goals to reduce VMTs

BIG TRANSIT FUNDING UPDATE

Last night, the Senate & Assembly released our budget, including most of the agreement on transit. We vote on Thursday.

The agreement is a strong step to address the transit operations fiscal cliff. More work remains, but this is good progress.🧵⬇️

It’s pretty absurd that a downtown with two train lines (up to 4x and hour each), a bus transit station, two grocery stores, a drug store, and a bunch of restaurants and offices has so much R1 zoning around it.
