Alex Anthopoulos says the Braves had been working on the Chris Sale trade for TWO YEARS before finally getting a deal done with Boston.
“I was kind of whining to our staff… ‘Man, we missed the boat on this one.’”
The Atlanta Braves pulled off one of the biggest thefts in baseball history, courtesy of the Boston Red Sox. The Red Sox sent Chris Sale + $17,000,000 cash to Atlanta in exchange for a prospect that hasn't panned out.
In the 2+ years in Atlanta Chris Sale is 31-9, won a Cy Young, and has yet to have higher than a 2.58 ERA.
INCREDIBLE TRADE.
These concessions prices at Condron Ballpark are absolutely felonious— even if the food WAS good.
Because the food isn’t good, you’d think fans who purchase anything here should get a bar of gold along with their food to justify these rates.
Congratulations to Brian Snitker on his induction into the Braves Hall of Fame after 50 years in the organization. We’re proud to call him a friend of 680 The Fan.
🚨 Mariners’ Pickoff Play
• 1st baseman dekes back to the base then resets his position.
• As the runner retakes his lead, the catcher drops his glove & the pitcher picks.
⭐️ Very creative play to catch overly aggressive baserunners.
Louis Leo “Lou” Holtz, legendary college football coach, Hall of Famer, bestselling author, and one of America’s most influential motivational voices, has passed away at the age of 89 in Orlando, Florida, surrounded by family. Born January 6, 1937, in Follansbee, West Virginia, Holtz rose from humble beginnings to become one of the most respected figures in college athletics. Over a remarkable five‑decade career, he led college programs at William & Mary, NC State, Arkansas, Minnesota, Notre Dame, and South Carolina. He transformed every team he inherited and captured the 1988 National Championship with the Fighting Irish. Holtz was preceded in death by his beloved wife of more than 50 years, Beth, with whom he shared a life grounded in faith, devotion, and service.
Holtz is remembered for his enduring values of faith, family, service, and an unwavering belief in the potential of others. His influence extended far beyond the football field through the Holtz Charitable Foundation and the many players, colleagues, and communities shaped by his leadership. He is survived by his four children, nine grandchildren, and two great‑grandchildren.
