@3CIG_Max I would clean the wheels to start with. Are you using droppers or relying on fishplates for power as fishplates can be a nightmare. Re the dust try an air purifier, dust & layouts / dust and lungs not a good combo. Also try another train just to rule this out as the issue.

Cutting back vegetation on the #railway is vital to safety, #trains need to be able to see signals and line side workers need to be able to see trains and have a clear area to work in. #railwayfamily
