I went to Odesa and Lviv and found extraordinary people keeping their culture alive in the midst of war. Terrible drone attacks in Odesa overnight, thinking of everyone I met there.

RIP David Davin-Power. Worked together at Drumcree, Good Friday, Omagh and the Queen’s visit. DDP had a rare ability to sum up extraordinary moments, their texture, context and impact, with a superb command of language. Great craic too. Thoughts with Dearbhla and family.

You’d barely know it from the BBC commentary… Paolini made it a great match but the commentary focused on her almost exclusively, even after Krejicova won!

@spoggioli1 @NPR I met Sylvia in Belgrade during the 99 NATO bombing. My sister in the US asked me had I met Sylvia. I said "Of course, do you know Sylvia?" Sister thought this was hilarious, and v Irish. But actually she knew Sylvia as a listener -the most important connection of all..Brava!

Really @BorisJohnson could you not have picked a better day for the denouement? Worn out switching between two excellent @Wimbledon quarter finals and the news channels....

Very honoured to have the opportunity to pay tribute to #DervlaMurphy on @RTESunMisc this morning. Dervla was an inspiration to me and so many others.

[Joanna Norton @joannapnorton]

Beautiful words this morning on @RTESunMisc from @MWardjourno & Pádraig Ó Macháin on the profound impact #DervlaMurphy has had on our lives. Her very presence challenged stereotypical norms of womanhood. Her actions alerted us to what is possible. Her words live in many soils.

[Margaret Ward @MWardjourno]

@florNEWS @RTESunMisc @rte thanks @florNews, I enjoyed doing it. Think a lot of women of our generation got the confidence to explore the world solo because of Dervla

Hot as it is, this year will probably be one of the 21st century's coolest. The extremes of floods and fires are not going away—and urgent action is needed. Our cover this week https://t.co/dFbdmfYm0H

Fair play to the boss, I know only too well how much it's taken to get here, Congratulations @EamonRyan

[Eamon Ryan @EamonRyan]

Thanks to everyone who made this happen, it's been a truly collaborative effort, and it's only the start. But we're on the right path.

@OrrCollins @IrishTimesMag @IrishTimes @ciaraky Congratulations Rachel, @ciaraky @BKilmartinIT @b_fitzsimons and all those involved, well deserved!

One of the best ever, fair play to Richie. The man, the stick and the ball were all one. On the streets of Kilkenny you see this in action from the time they are kids - the hurl is an extension of their arm

This was quite a moment from @VanJones68

[Van Jones @VanJones68]

Today is a good day.
It’s easier to be a parent this morning.
Character MATTERS.
Being a good person MATTERS.
This is a big deal.

It’s easy to do it the cheap way and get away with stuff — but it comes back around.

Today is a good day.
