Great discussion at #ALF2026 on the shift towards neighbourhood care. Struck by Andy Knoxs' comments- reminder that real transformation comes from mobilising communities not rebadging existing services.
Genuine partnership with communities can result in profound patient impact.

Timely discharge when patients are medically fit makes a real difference to ambulance availability. It frees up beds and helps our crews return to the road sooner to reach the next 999 patient. A whole system effort, thank you to everyone playing their part @NIAS999

[South Eastern Trust @setrust]

It is really vital that you leave hospital when you are medically fit.

This frees up a bed for someone who is acutely unwell.

When you or your loved one urgently needed admission to hospital, a patient was discharged to provide your bed.

We are all in this together. Thank you

[Maxine Paterson @M_PatersonHSCNI]

Our teams are working around the clock to prioritise the sickest patients and get help to those who need it most. Please continue to call 999 if it’s an emergency and thank you for your patience and understanding to our crews and call takers who are under sustained pressure.

[Maxine Paterson @M_PatersonHSCNI]

@NIAS999 Thank you for your patience. Our teams across NIAS are working to prioritise the sickest patients and get help to those who need it most. Sincere thanks to our crews and EOC staff who continue to go above and beyond under sustained pressure.
