So yes, we should ask how many businesses are still operating, how many jobs they have created and how many actually received support.

But we should also remember that training, mentoring, business planning, pitching and access to finance are all part of building a business. As someone who was directly involved, I saw that process happen.

Let’s get the full data and judge the programme based on the actual results

This is a fair question, but I think some context is needed.

I’m a business consultant, and under Adwumawura, I was given 60 businesses to train and mentor. I supported them with business plans, pitch decks and pitch preparation, and some of the businesses I worked with eventually received grants to start or scale up.

So from what I saw on the ground, the programme did not end at just training 10,000 people.

The national figures from NEIP say 10,887 enterprises were trained and mentored, while 3,212 beneficiaries were selected for grants.

But here is the part I also want government to clarify: how many beneficiaries were there at the district and hub levels? For my hub, I know we had 60 businesses, but I don’t know how many of them finally received grants. The figures being shared are mainly national figures.

Most people don’t know this, but @JDMahama made a very clear promise under the Adwumawura Programme. He promised to help create and support at least 10,000 businesses every year.

Government says more than 10,000 young people have already been trained and mentored and some have received grants. Hmm okay but training 10,000 people is not the same as creating 10,000 businesses. The promise was about businesses.

How many actual businesses have been created so far? How many are still running? Where are they? What do they do? How many people have they employed? This is not complicated. Can someone please help?
