Track & field is one of the last places in a school where the football captain, the valedictorian, the band kid, the wrestler, and the quiet kid who never thought he belonged can all wear the same jersey.
Track does not care what a kid’s last name is, how much money he has, what side of town he lives on, or how popular he is. Out here, none of that matters. Somewhere between the workouts, the bus rides, and the meets, kids who might never have spoken to each other start to build real respect.
It is hard not to respect somebody when you have seen what they are willing to push through and how much they are willing to give.
That is a big reason track & field will always mean more to me than just times, marks, and points.
Brooklyn Kermmoade of Platteview is fast and has exceptionally good taste. We know this because (a) she won the Fort Calhoun meet yesterday and (b) she wrote "I ♥️ Nerd" on her leg.
Well done, Brooklyn.

We could not run our program without these great coaches! Grateful for each of them!
I’m really proud of these kids and all of the work they have put in this summer! Also just feeling very grateful that I get to be their coach. Season up next!
I am so excited to have the opportunity to coach the cross country team at Platteview. I have some really big shoes to fill but I am very pumped for this new role! Go Trojans!!
Excited to announce that Madison Sloup has been named the new Head Coach of our Cross Country program. Madison is current teacher in our district and has been serving as the Head Middle School Cross Country Coach.
Ran into some former Platteview runners at the @LincolnMarathon. The high school runner to half marathon pipeline is alive and well! Great job ladies!!
First track season or last.
Top dog or runt. Big school or small.
Distance, sprints, jumps or throws.
The season starts tomorrow and ends at Burke on May 24.
Over the next 83 days, will you give your best? Lead by example? Is this the season that you make your mark?
Due to an Extreme Cold Warning and brutal wind chills @SpringfieldPV Schools will be closed tomorrow, January 21st. Stay warm and safe! Dig out those hats, gloves, and coats, you’re going to need them!
Completely honest here. The foul calls are subjective to a degree. The double dribble is not. That missed call merits a demotion. The Big Ten can't accept mistakes like that at the end of a game.
Your queen isn’t going anywhere. Please join us in welcoming @Alexis14Rod to the LOVB Omaha roster 💚 Lexi is the all-time digs leader for @HuskerVB, 4x All-American, 2x Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, and 2024 Big Ten Libero of the Year.
We're SO excited, Lexi! 👑
