The World Bank has delisted Zimbabwe from its severe fragility ratings - fragile and conflict-affected economies - with effect from July 1.
The decision officially removes the country from what was formerly known as the Fragile and Conflict-Affected Situations list, which has been updated under the bank's revised Fragility, Conflict, and Violence classification framework.
The World Bank says a significant economic rebound, with Zimbabwe recording a growth rate of 7.5% in 2025, positioning it among the fastest-growing economies in Sub-Saharan Africa is one of the reasons behind its decision.
The country has experienced improved foreign currency receipts, a reduction in extreme hyperinflation, and relatively stable currency conditions.
Improvements in the World Bank's Country Policy and Institutional Assessment score also pulled Zimbabwe out of the "higher institutional and social fragility" category.
Global investment entities, including Citigroup, supported the positive outlook, noting Zimbabwe's turnaround is moving faster than general market perceptions suggest.
This reclassification is expected to significantly boost Zimbabwe's international credit rating and sovereign standing, making it more attractive for foreign direct investment and improving relations with international financial institutions as it pursues its Vision 2030 upper-middle-income goals.
This whole Muchena thing is just funny and dramatic 😂😂😂
Why would he be "followed" now when he doesn't even matter anymore? Why wasn't he "followed" back then when he was fiercely opposing CAA3?
Muchena is not even a threat to anyone that is why no one cared about what he had to say about CAA3 back then. Just like many citizens in the country he had a right to oppose policies. No one even bothered him then and no one would care bother him now because he is, just like ana Hopewell vake, a nonentity.
Why would the so called "state agents" waste fuel to just follow him on broad daylight?
This is obvious staged and stupidity planned for that matter.
If he was being followed, why didn't he report to the police at Highlands police station where he got in and took videos? He left a few minutes later and those same cars he and his wife were recording just went like nothing had happened.
Murikufunga kuti takapusa here imi? Busy kutora ma number plate eHonda Fit irimu car sale muchiisa muGD6 😂😂😂
Honoured to officially open the 116th Zimbabwe Agricultural Show today under the theme: “Powering Growth: Where Agriculture, Technology, and Commerce Converge.”
We must modernise our sector, and I challenge the private sector to partner with our hardworking farmers. To our youth & women: agriculture is our present and future. Through the Youth Agriculture Entrepreneurs Hub, step up, innovate, and lead!Under NDS2, the Second Republic will no longer export raw materials, jobs, and opportunities. We are establishing Special Agro-Processing Zones across all 10 provinces to ensure local value addition.
All agricultural produce must be value-added right here at home. Together, let us secure our food sovereignty and build an empowered, industrialised economy!
If you think just because this young man has been to prison so his chances of getting employed are slim and it is useless for him to get a degree then you are VERY WRONG!
His story is a testimony and an inspiration to many. He will be needed for jobs to prove that indeed the ZPCS is doing wonders in rehabilitating people!
Watch and see!

Zimbabwe’s economic story is changing and even international finance is beginning to notice.
For years, Zimbabwe was defined by hyperinflation, currency instability and excessive monetary financing. Today, Citigroup says the country is undergoing an economic transformation that marks a departure from that painful past.
That matters.
The Second Republic inherited an economy burdened by years of instability, but it has pursued reforms aimed at restoring macroeconomic stability, strengthening production and rebuilding the foundations for sustainable growth.
The biggest challenge now is not simply changing the economy but it is changing the world’s perception of Zimbabwe.
This is where Vision 2030 becomes increasingly important.
A stable currency, stronger productive sectors, infrastructure development, investment reforms and greater economic discipline are not overnight achievements. They are building blocks.
Zimbabwe does not need everyone to believe in the transformation today. It needs to keep delivering.
And if the reform trajectory continues, Vision 2030 will not look like a distant political slogan.
It will increasingly look like a destination already taking shape.
The story is changing. The numbers are changing. The opportunity is changing.
Zimbabwe is moving forward.

Zimbabwe probably has the dumbest and most stupid breed of opposition in the whole of Africa. Bottom barrel behavior 🚮🚮
This is @LynneStactia here liking, reposting and commenting in support of a post that called for the beheading of @nelsonchamisa.
Why would a sane person even wish for this? Worst of all, someone who prides herself as part of progressive opposition. By the way this is how all of them are.
They are just too stupid to lead and thankfully we have #CAA3 in place to stop such stupidity from seeing the leadership sits.

What you don't understand is this message is not just treasonous but unintelligent. How on earth would anyone believe you to lead on a revolution against a visibly hardworking government delivering nothing but tangible results?
You are still stuck in the past with your bitter hatred for the Second Republic that took a silver spoon from your greedy mouth such that you still call for a Coup nanhasi here nhai Jelasi?
Will you ever heal?
Its NOT surprising kuti muriku involver the First Lady panyaya dzaasiri kupinda. Its because you know how STRICT she is panyaya dzema DRUGS and that she would do anything for this country to eradicate drugs!!!
First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa has consistently made the fight against substance abuse a cornerstone of her national community work. Through her initiatives and rehabilitation programs, she has championed real support for those affected by addiction and has taken a firm, zero-tolerance stance against those who supply or traffic illegal substances into our communities.
When it comes to protecting families including her own and protecting Zimbabwean homes from the scourge of drugs, a mother and public leader has every right to ensure that such evil doesn't happen.
If you people claim that her actions led to the arrest of individuals allegedly bringing illicit substances into domestic spaces, that is definitely NOT abuse of power that is a necessary line of defense against a growing crisis.
Every parent and citizen in Zimbabwe wants illegal drugs off our streets and out of our households. Rather than using drug enforcement cases as ammunition for online politics, we should be supporting her rehabilitation initiatives and backing decisive action against illicit drug distribution at every level.
As we push for necessary new vessels to service Kariba, safety cannot be secondary.
Sadly, the new private vessel has not met all safety standards. In the meantime road is the main transport system in the area while the government is working day and night to bring a proper new vessel.

If you see big institutions like IMF saying this "Pfumbudza is a game changer and Zimbabwe is on the right track," that means we are doing something worth celebrating.
With the coming El Nino, we are certainly going to be prepared. Our leaders are making sure no one will suffer the drought.

It was an honor to deliver the opening remarks today at the 4th Session of the Zimbabwe-South Africa Bi-National Commission (BNC) in Pretoria.
I want to extend my deepest gratitude to my brother, His Excellency President Cyril Ramaphosa, and the people of South Africa for their exceptionally warm welcome and generous hospitality.
Beyond our geographic borders, Zimbabwe and South Africa share deep-rooted historical relations, ancestry, cultural ties, and a common bond forged in our anti-colonial and anti-apartheid struggles. We are one people with linked destinies.
As we deliberate under the vital theme of infrastructure development, agriculture, and critical minerals transformation, our focus remains clear:
•De-risking our economies from external shocks
•Building strong, resilient regional supply chains
•Boosting mutual trade—noting that Zimbabwe imported $3.8 billion worth of goods from SA last year alone
Our partnerships across iron, steel, agriculture, healthcare, and education prove that together we are stronger. When South Africa thrives, Zimbabwe thrives too!
Let us continue to leverage our strategic economic projects to build a more prosperous future and a higher quality of life for all our peoples.
