One of the key reasons the NPP lost the 2024 election was the sustained campaign of lies and propaganda directed at Dr. Bawumia and other top officials by NDC operatives.

If someone is dragging your name through the mud with falsehoods and your first instinct is to demand an apology, then you’re simply not ready for power. While NPP social media communicators are being arrested at dawn and dragged into police custody for far less, the NDC government never bothered asking for apologies. By end of 2024, only $127m out of the $350m awarded was ever disbursed. The World Bank releases money in tranches based on performance. Even the current NDC Minister of Works & Housing visited the GARID project sites and confirmed progress. So who squandered $350m that was never fully released? The NDC fabricated a scandal that the numbers do not support. They hate to take responsibility when they are in power. Optics government!
