It was a pleasure to meet with the President of Somaliland, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi @AbdirahmanIrro during High-Level Week at the UN General Assembly.
We discussed strengthening relations and expanding cooperation between our two countries.
World powers have Always fought over resource-rich, strategic locations and econimic hubs.
The land of the State of Somaliland has long been a target due to its strategic location and its natural resources.
While its significance remains unchanged, but unfortunately Somaliland lacks the leadership capable of effectively leveraging and negotiating based on these natural assets and its international value on the world stage.
these assets Somaliland owns legitimate sovereign ownership,
as well as a legal status as Independent State.,that cannot be legally stripped away by anyone.
Although #Somalia has attempted to challenge the legitimacy of the State of #Somaliland , it has become evident that Somalia's argument is as flimsy as a (spiderweb.)
In my 30 years in this line of work, I never posted a picture with heads of state or celebrity politicians, but for Somaliland, Iโll make an exception.
The sixth president of the Republic of Somaliland Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi is visiting Washington, asking for recognition of his nationโs self-determination, independence and sovereignty.
Even though neighboring Somalia receives billions of dollars in foreign aid, Somaliland that cannot access such money until it is recognized as a state has a GDP per capita thatโs 30 percent higher than Somalia.
Somaliland is stable and democratic. Somalia is a mess.
๐บ๐ธ Somaliland's leader Abdullahi says his country is ready to contribute up to 2,000 troops to the planned US-led International Stabilization Force in Gaza, if asked.
"If they ask, we can provide," Abdullahi said, clarifying that Somaliland isn't actively volunteering but stands prepared to participate.
'If Somaliland will send troops to Gaza it hold the role of an observer, a stabilisation force, or, a UNIFIL that actually works.'
