This has been one of the most bizarre & personal tales I’ve witnessed in my many years of journalism. I spoke up for @AliZafarsays because I saw the evidence (mounds of witnesses, people actually present at the so-called venue). I saw one person constantly corroborating his version and the other constantly changing goalposts.

Then I saw a vile barrage of hate against me when I simply apologized for a mislead opinion.

Friends became mobs & some acquaintances chose to become strangers.

It was alleged that I was “paid”, that I was “working” for Ali Zafar’s PR, that I didn’t care about women being harassed etc etc.

Lol.

Water under the bridge. That time showed a lot of real faces. The truth is here and now you will all see in the detailed judgement that 200+ hearings & 20+ witnesses have testified to in court.

If it walks like a duck, if it talks like a duck … well. It is a duck.

A shame for all those who thought they were fighting a righteous battle but were just following a blind mob.

What a trial it has been for Ali Zafar & his family.
